Welcome to Embraceable Life. It’s really great to have you! My name is Halie. I’m a twenty something girl trying to find my way in the world by trial and error, my mom’s advice, and the grace of God. Please don’t let the name of this blog intimidate you! To me, embraceable life is not about attaining a picture-perfect life but rather embracing all of the plot-twists it throws your way.
Now that we cleared that part up let me fill you on the juicy deets!
I recently graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Biological Sciences (Go Dawgs)! Athens, GA is still home for me and I so glamorously exemplify the awkward post grad/ pre-career stage of life while still residing in a college town. I love to make to-do lists, watch murder mysteries with strong female leads (AKA Murder She Wrote), and catch up with people I like over long brunches and lots of coffee. Although I’m still hoping to earn my living by winning the lottery or being recognized for my witty Instagram captions, I spend most days working a job that is a bit more structured. I come home to my cat Aengus, the sweetest and smelliest creature you will ever meet.
Cooking and eating are two of the most important activities in my life and I can’t wait to do both of these with you guys! To be perfectly honest, most of the content of this blog will likely be food related. For those who I didn’t’ scare away with the last comment: I plan to share my own creations and failures, some of my favorite recipes from people who inspire me, and the delicious things I eat when I’m out and about.
After a study abroad trip to Toulouse, France and gallivanting through a few other European destinations a few years ago, I have been self-diagnosed with the travel bug. I will obviously bring you guys along on my future trips!
I have been blessed with an extremely creative mom and a dad who can build anything we dream up so I’m sure some of their handiwork, and maybe a few crafts of my own will be featured on this blog (you’re welcome)!
As you can see, I’m just a girl who’s still figuring it all out. My goal through this journey is to inspire others by embracing my flaws, and loving the life I live (plot-twists and all)! There will be lots of ramblings, run on sentences, and sarcasm along the way. I hope you’ll join me!
