Life is too short to eat bad chocolate. I know it’s hard to believe, but yes… there is such a thing as bad chocolate. You know it the second you pop it into your mouth. It’s all waxy & maybe too sweet. I think I became a true blue chocolate snob when we lived in Europe. Once you get a taste of Belgian chocolate in Belgium you’re done. There is no substitute for good chocolate.
I keep a little cut glass jar of Lindor truffles from Lindt on my dining room buffet for my afternoon ‘fix’.
My new favorite cocoa find was discovered on a recent trip to Charleston, SC. Sweeteeth makes artisan chocolates right there by the sea. (http://www.sweetteethcharleston.com/) What could be better? Nothin’. These handcrafted chocolates are a bit pricey, but oh so delicious! They are only sold through restaurants and specialty stores.
We tried the Sea is for Caramel (Salted Caramel) on our recent trip. It was off the charts delicious! The bar itself is a darker chocolate, filled with a rich toasty caramel, and dusted ever so lightly with sea salt. Mmmm, good!!! What a treat.
If you are ever in Charleston, SC you should definitely give this delicious treat a try.
I have received no compensation from Sweeteeth for this review and recommendation.
