We’ve had some cold blustery days here recently in Middle Georgia. Blegch!! What to do on those yucky, stuck inside days? Rather, what to do on those yucky, stuck inside days, that don’t involve cleaning? Paint a little picture, that’s what to do.
This little painting took almost no time, and NO artistic skill (as I have none).
I started by printing out an outline of my state from the internet. I cut it out and traced it onto a small canvas. Then it was just a matter of painting inside the lines. I painted the green part first, then the gray. In the future, if I do something like this again I would definitely just paint the entire background first – then do the state. For the “home” lettering I used rubber stamps dipped in red paint.
Instead of framing I glued some flat, red, braided, soutache trim around the edge of the canvas to finish it off. Easy peasy, and I had all of the supplies in my stash. It was a fun way to spend a blustery afternoon; and it will go towards filling up those empty walls in the man cave.
