Life handed me actual lemons this week. What else to do except make lemonade?
Over the weekend we attended my beautiful young cousin’s wedding in Indianapolis.
In addition to the bride, both the wedding and reception were gorgeous! The table decor at the reception included stunning floral arrangements…
and bright bowls of lemons. At the end of the evening the event coordinator invited the guests to take them home – so we did.
What a treat, lemons lemons everywhere. This week baby girl and I have made: lemon chicken, lemon curd tartlets, and cool refreshing lemonade. It’s been the perfect drink to get us through these super hot afternoons.
Here is my recipe:
2 cups fresh squeezed lemon juice (it will take a dozen or more lemons to get this amount – depends on their juiciness)
2 cups sugar or Splenda measure
6 cups water
Stir everything together in a 2 quart pitcher. Serve over crushed ice or frozen berries. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
