Pumpkin Bars

I got this recipe from the adorable Kasey at Lola B’s.  Her blog is hysterical.  She dresses in fabulous Anthropologie style, throws amazing parties, and has a pierced nose too.  (So brave, I’m a little bit jealous).  She featured Pumpkin Dessert Squares here on her blog, so you can go there to get the recipe.  Just know these little goodies are super fast, easy, and ridiculously yummy.  Continue reading Pumpkin Bars »

Silk Flower Pin

I am in love with all of the little flower pins you see around blogland these days.  This is my version of one I saw by the very elegant Emily at Jones Design Co.

Happy Thanksgiving

Goodness Gracious!  To say that things around here have been a little squirrelly lately would be an UNDERSTATEMENT.

Since I last posted, {which was forever ago  (I know) Sorry} we found out that we are going to be moving.  Yikes!  We’ve been in this house for 12 years.  I know that ‘home’ is where the Air Force sends us, but it’s been awhile.  I started at the top of the house and worked my way down with the cleaning and the purging, and purging, and purging.  We had the YARD-SALE-A-PALOOZA; which was a huge success.  Started putting some things on Craigslist, etc.  Since our baby will be graduating in the Spring, the Mister and I will be downsizing considerably.  We’ve met with a Realtor here and begun the process of sprucing up the joint to put on the market at the beginning of the year.  We’ve been house hunting at the new locale and after MUCH looking and review have decided to build…picked out a floor-plan, builder, and spot.  Whew, if that weren’t enough we’ve done some traveling, visits with family, & had the usual activities.  Oh yeah, and we decided to get a new puppy too.  The new addition will join the family late December.  Nothing like having a new puppy to train while your house is on the market.  I’m just about worn slap out, and haven’t even started preparing for Christmas yet..other than the forced family picture.

China Cabinet

Our dining room is fairly small.  Several years ago I decided to forgo the super formal dining room we had for one that was more functional.   Because our room is so tight and I have a problem with collecting love of dishes, we needed more storage space.  I looked all over the place for an ample sized china cabinet that wouldn’t jut out into the room too far.  I couldn’t find one anywhere, so I came up with the idea to piece a china cabinet together by using pre-built cabinets.  My sweetie had his doubts, but once again he humored me.

Blustery Day Beef Stew

Our weather here in North Georgia has turned very blustery and fall-like.  Perfect timing for some tummy warming Beef Stew.  I was at my local Publix grocery store (“where shopping is a pleasure”) and saw the cutest little tiny golden nugget potatoes.  Once I saw those I knew I had to put them in my dish.  Mmm good, and super cute too!
