Dust-ruffle Extension

My son has had the same Fish Camp themed bedroom for several years now.  And for those several years his dust-ruffle has been too short.  The actual bed and frame were hand me downs from a sweet friend.  Well, back in the day when this bed was made it was the kind that sat lower to the floor.  In order to make it a wee bit updated, and for it to fit the headboard correctly, we raised it up just a tiny bit.

You can see from the pictures below we didn’t even spring for the deluxe plastic bed risers you can find at any store now.  We just plopped the bed on some cut off blocks of 2 x 4.  Can you say cheap?…yep that’s us.

Nice view under the bed

I’m sure you can understand how this could bug a gal like me.  This is how I fixed it.

Lost in Blogland

This summer I have been somewhat confined to the house, but as a result I have stumbled upon some GREAT blogs that I otherwise would not have found…or had the time to enjoy.  Do you find yourself getting “Lost in BLOGLAND….” (cue the echo machine)?  I do it ALL-THE-TIME.  I start out saying to myself…”I’m just gonna take a quick peek at the blogs”.  Then before you know it, you’ve clicked here and there, you peek at the clock and two hours have gone by.  Yikes!!!  How does that happen?

Love the colors...

The 2010 Southern Living Georgia Idea House: Part Two

Today I want to show you some of the pretties from the bedroom level.  The three bedrooms of this home are on the third floor.  The rooms were all fairly large, but the closets were pretty small.  I don’t know about you, but I guess I’ve just got too much stuff!  Closets are one of the first things I check out when I look at houses.

Here we go:

On the front side of the home was a brightly colored kid’s room.  The colors were so vibrant, and not colors that I would ordinarily envision going together.  The whole room was so fun though.
