Taking Pound Cake over-the-top with fresh berries and real whipped cream
I love a good pound cake. In fact, I think it is one of my most favorite cakes. There’s nothing like that that first forkful of moist, buttery, deliciousness. Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm! My sweetie’s grandfather used to even eat it for breakfast. He would have it toasted, and spread with butter.
This is my ‘go-to’ pound cake recipe. My son especially loves this cake. I try to make one for him whenever he comes home for a visit. I adapted the recipe from one that was in Southern Living magazine several years ago. Their recipe called for lemon extract. I prefer to use vanilla in mine.
For years and years I made a cream cheese pound cake. Once I tried this sour cream pound cake there was no going back. I hope you give it a try. I know you’ll love it as much as I do!

I totally apologize for my absence. Where have you been, you ask? Well things around here have been totally C.R.A.Z.Y. for a few weeks. We’ve had 3 college visit road trips for baby girl. What fun those were; more on one special trip later. Lacrosse season wrapped up, visits from the boy child, & the prom ‘extravaganza’ have all been in the works. The end of the school year always seems chaotic to me. Additionally, I was thrown a bit of a life changing curve ball by the ‘universe’. No worries though, all is well and everything will work out just fine.
